Seven Tunisian companies operating in various sectors of technical textiles—cosmetic textiles, protective textiles, medical textiles and sportswear—participated in the two-day CITEXT Europe, the International Business Convention about Technical Textiles Materials, held on June 11 and 12, 2014, in Troyes, France.
The participation of the Tunisian companies was organized by the Centre for Export Promotion (CEPEX).It was for the first time that Tunisian firms participated in the event, as part of the national program of business events in 2014 for the diversification of export destinations and tapping new markets.The Tunisian participation, under the theme “Technical Textiles: A promising sector for Tunisia”, was organized in collaboration with MFC Pole, with an aim of consolidating the position of Tunisian textile and clothing industry in the European market.The objective was to enable participating Tunisian companies to meet foreign buyers and earn valuable contacts.
CITEXT Europe, organized by the technical textile sector of Champagne-Ardenne, one of the 27 regions of France, has become a major international event for technical textile industries.On the sidelines of the 15th edition of CITEXT Europe, several conferences and workshops were organized on topics such as alternative composites, automotive textiles and medical textiles.
